Useful Information

Good Day Warriors!!

Positivity has everything to do with the out-come of real life situations! As Sickle Cell Anemia patients, that can sometimes seem as a hard tasks to do, but we must focus on the good of our lives and let that be enough to keep us on point for success.

Healthy living is important for our well being...enough rest...hydrating fluid intake...vegetables...and exercise. These things can help warrant off "painful crisis" episodes! Such foods as beets...liver...spinach and carrots are great iron and blood builders. We want to focus on maintaining healthy red blood cells to keep them from sickling. Fruits are also great for us. Bananas help with potassium. Prunes can help with constipation. Cantaloupe...honey dew...fresh peaches...and pears are afew of my personal favorites.

Identify with this illness and take advantage of all resources ( though they are limited and hard to get the proper information on ). For some, Sickle Cell Anemia Disease has resulted in them having a disibility that is perminent. When this happens...there are agencies that you can apply to, requesting whatever assistance you may qualify for like Foodstamps...Medicaid/Medicare...SSI...Low Income Housing etc.

I'm hoping this information may help those of you that may have been trying to find some resources. Please pass on and share this information with family and friends that may find it useful.

Remember, BE A BLESSING TO OTHERS SO THAT OTHERS MAY BE A BLESSING TO YOU!! God bless each and all of you Warriors!!
